Dartmoor

Dartmoor is one of the best playgrounds a horse could ask for. From our doorstep we have access to the open moorland which comprises of many natural obstacles. The banks, small ditches, rivers, fords, hedges and hills provide a huge amount for horses to learn and develop over.

As well as this there are many other benefits to having the moor on our doorstep. The strengthening of proprioception over the varying surfaces is a huge accest to the longevity of a horses life.

I strongly believe this haven provides a huge foundation block to allow a horse to excel in any aspect of ridden life.

Surrounding Area

As well as having the open moor on our doorsteps we are very lucky to have lovely country lanes for hacking, a local cross country course and fields with good turf to allow varied daily exercise all year round.

We have a good network of local venues close by - Bicton arena, Bicton College, The Grange, Launceston, Chard and Pontispool.

Sophie is an incredible riding instructor and it’s clear she really knows her stuff. My two daughters have improved beyond recognition since she has been teaching them – she really understands how to encourage and get them through challenging moments (and also knows how to handle their sometimes challenging ponies!). The girls look forward to their lessons and learn something new every session. Sophie is calm, constructive and always fun, I’d happily recommend her to anyone.
